READ ON FOR NON-SPOILER REVIEW:
Pumpkin Heads is a sweet story about two best friends on their last Halloween together before college.
It is fun, witty and adorable through and through. It’s a quick read, and quite worth it.
My favourite part was the autumn theme, mainly because I love autumn, its vibe and its orange and red hues. The pumpkin patch setting fit perfectly.
I also want to point out the diverse representation in this book. Off the top of my head, there’s LGBT+ and plus-size representation. I wouldn’t say there are any trigger warnings… correct me if I’m wrong in the comments.
The artwork of Faith E.H. was just lovely and added a unique touch to the story. Rainbow Rowell’s dialogue is cute and funny, however, one major drawback was the lack of depth in the story. I enjoyed the ending, which was somewhat predictable, but I did not think the story quite led up to it as well as it could have.
Anyway – for the most part, I was not disappointed. 4 stars! If you want a fast, pleasant read, then this book is perfect.
PS: Can we just talk about how awesome the cover is?
